The Attendance tool in Bb allows you to mark students present, late, absent, or excused in your Bb courses.  To use the tool in your course, navigate to the Course Tools menu in your Bb course and click on Attendance. Note: students must be enrolled in your course before you can set up the attendance tool.  If you would like students loaded early, call Rick at 843-525-8317.

On the next page, you'll see the meeting view.  This will default to the current day.  In order to set up your course schedule in the attendance tool, you should click on Overall, and then add the respective meeting dates to the tool by click the plus icon at the top of each column.

To add a meeting date, click on the date ("Today" in this example), and then "Edit Meeting.  This will open a calendar from which you can select the class meeting date.  Keep in mind, that every time you open the Attendance tool, a column for the current day will be automatically created for you.  There is no need to create columns for all class meetings if you do not want to.

As you record attendance, the tool will calculate stats for each student in real time, and your work is saved as you go.

At the end of the term, you can export an attendance report that can be saved offline.  Click the export icon in the right hand corner of the Overall view to download a report.

By default, this tool creates a column in your grade center which is included in the overall score for a class.  If you want to NOT use this as part of a student's grade, navigate to the grade center, and click the option to edit column information.

On the next page, scroll to the bottom of the page, and make sure the option to include this column in grade center calculations is set to "no."
