When you access Library eBooks or databases off campus, you will be prompted to log in. You will be asked to enter your seven-digit TCL student ID number and a password, which is the first letter of your first name plus the last three digits of your social security number. (Example: John Smith (SSN: XXX-XX-X123) would enter j123 as his password.) Note: Some TCL IDs have only a six-digit number listed. If this is the case with your ID, enter a zero before your number. (Example: If your ID card says 123456, enter 0123456.)

Troubleshooting:

If you receive a message that says you cannot be logged in, try clearing your cookies and closing and reopening your web browser.

Internet Explorer: Click the "Tools" menu in Internet Explorer, then "Internet Options." Under "Browsing History," click Delete, then make sure the box next to "Cookies" is checked.

Firefox: Click "Tools," then "Options," then "Clear all current history."

Chrome: Click the menu icon on the side of the screen, then "Tools," then "Clear browsing data."

Safari: From the Safari menu, choose "Preferences," then "Privacy," then "Details."

If you still cannot log in or receive any additional messages asking you to log in, pay for an article, or create an account with the database or eBooks collection, please contact the Library.
